GRAPPLING

The SHIDO Grappling classes consists of a combination of Wrestling, Judo, and Jiu-Jitsu training. Grappling can be defined as grabbing onto something or holding onto it. Therefore, grappling martial arts are focused on close quarter combat that focuses on grabbing and holding onto the opponent. In these classes we teach various techniques that will make you skilled at controlling an opponent in close quarters, taking an opponent down to the ground in various ways, and to finish a fight by using chokes, joint locks, and other fight-ending techniques.

Having these skills makes you efficient at defending yourself in close quarters and on the ground. It also allows you to de-escalate a situation without throwing any punches or kicks. Being skilled at grappling means that you can neutralize an opponent without causing injury, but if the situation requires it, you have the necessary skills to inflict serious injury in order to stop the threat.
